1. Warum haben Sie gerade diesen Service im Mobile Business gestartet?

MyStrands started in mobile by providing recommendations and social networking around music. Music is inherently mobile – people listen to music in their cars, while jogging, wherever they go. Apple jump started the digital mobile music revolution after Sony demonstrated that music is mobile with the iconic Walkman series over 20 years ago. And now handset manufacturers worldwide are shipping 100s of millions of mobile phones capable of music playback. That together with the popularity of social networking made it a natural fit for us to combine music, mobile, and social networking together with recommendations, helping people find new things they like.

2. Welchen konkreten Nutzen hat Ihre Zielgruppe von Ihrem Service?

The MyStrands Social Player enables people to discover new music that they like based on what they are listening to. It is a social music player because it not only plays music and provides recommendations, but in brings you in touch with other people that like listening to the same music as you do.

In the future, you will see the MyStrands bring these benefits to many more areas of life than only music.

One of the biggest challenges in our lives is the ever increasing amount of information pouring in from all sides, competing for our attention. At the same time, the amount of information truly relevant to us is very small. Recommendation technologies can help us sort the relevant from the irrelevant and enable us to spend more time on what is important rather than sift through vast amounts of unnecessary distractions. This is especially true for mobile where we have limitations in form of screen size, download bandwidth and battery life. Recommendation technologies are crucial for us to manage the mobile life style of the 21st century in an efficient way.
